SpellUp is a district-level English language competition organised by Palma Women SHG Federation to encourage students to develop strong vocabulary, spelling accuracy, pronunciation, reading skills, and communication abilities.
The competition provides students with a platform to showcase their language skills, build confidence, and compete with talented students from across Kanniyakumari District.
Kumari SpellUp began as a small district initiative — a handful of teachers who believed spelling could be more than rote memorisation. Today it is a structured, multi-level championship reaching schools across Kanniyakumari, run in association with the Palma Federation and guided by an advisory council of educators and language specialists.
Every season, students from Classes 1–9 climb from their own classroom to the district stage — building vocabulary, pronunciation, and the kind of confidence that stays long after the trophies are handed out.
To give every child in Kanniyakumari — whatever their school or background — a fair, joyful stage to master language and discover their voice.
A district where strong communication is universal — and where SpellUp is the annual celebration every school looks forward to.
Fair judging, free preparation for all, transparent fees, and recognition for schools and teachers — not just individual winners.
Register a student or bring your whole school on board this season.
